Villa Ayantam in Marbella: a design kitchen between nature and wellbeing
At the foot of the majestic La Concha peak, in the exclusive residential area of Cascada de Camoján, Villa Ayantam enjoys a privileged position between the sea, Mediterranean vegetation and the mountains. South-east facing and flanked by the watercourse descending from the Cascada de Camoján, the residence interprets the morphological features that make Marbella's microclimate so unique, transforming them into a living experience deeply connected to its setting.
The project draws on the natural transition of the landscape — from the coast to the mountains, through the city and the Mediterranean woodland — translating it into a sequence of spaces that accompany everyday living. The swimming pool, living area, internal courtyard and more intimate rooms engage in continuous dialogue with the surrounding environment. Every element is designed to enhance light, natural ventilation, views and the relationship between indoors and outdoors.
Designed by OÖD Architects and developed in collaboration with S&H Sustainability and Health, Villa āyāntam is one of the most advanced examples of sustainable residential architecture. Its top-level LEED certification testifies to a project conceived to combine environmental efficiency, health, comfort and quality of living. Within this vision, the value of the home is expressed through the wellbeing it can offer, the quality of its spaces and its responsibility towards the environment.

The same approach also guides Valcucine's contribution. The kitchen design is part of an idea of the home as an ecosystem, where ergonomics, sustainability, material quality and durability come together to create a more natural and conscious everyday experience. In keeping with Mediterranean tradition, the kitchen becomes the heart of domestic life: a space dedicated to preparation, conviviality and connection, integrated into the large living area and open towards the swimming pool and the landscape.
The choice of Artematica responds to the desire to integrate seamlessly with the architectural language of the villa. The Flamed Canaletto Walnut door fronts and the Honed Grigio Antalya marble top define a material palette that recalls the tones of stone, Mediterranean undergrowth and water, creating a visual and sensory continuity with the surrounding spaces. The project was carried out by Valcucine Marbella | BD Group, Valcucine's local partner, who interpreted the design with great attention to detail, translating the architectural vision into an environment of outstanding execution quality.

The composition develops through a corner storage area and a large central island, equipped with a sink and an induction hob with integrated extraction. This configuration is designed to encourage freedom of movement, operational efficiency and conviviality, while keeping those who cook in constant relation with the living area, guests and the landscape.
To the north, the zen patio introduces a more intimate and contemplative atmosphere; to the south, the Mediterranean garden guides the gaze towards the swimming pool and the sea view. The kitchen occupies the point of connection between these two scenarios, becoming a space of balance between quietness and sharing, introspection and openness to the outside.
Villa Ayantam interprets an idea of living in which bioclimatic design, technology and material sensitivity converge in architecture conceived to last. The kitchen also contributes to this vision, through a project that supports people's wellbeing, enhances sustainable materials and strengthens the bond with the natural environment. A return to origins, understood as the search for a more authentic relationship with nature and with the spaces we inhabit, in the awareness that innovation and sustainability can evolve together.
“The true value of a home lies not only in its location or finishes, but in the quality of life it makes possible and in the footprint it leaves behind.”
