Total black: harmony along the river
Located along Savvinskaya Embankment, with a spectacular view of the Moskva River, this apartment designed by Tatyana Alenina and Vladimir Krasilnikov is an example of boundless architecture, where minimalism, purity of lines, and a sophisticated interplay of materials take center stage. Created in collaboration with dealer Krassky, the project translates the designers' vision into an authentic portrait of their inner world.
The rectangular layout of the residence is defined by large floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides, framing both the city and the river while allowing natural light to filter into every corner, balancing the depth of dark tones with an unexpected brightness. “We decided not to divide the space,” explains Tatyana. In this open-plan interior, the bedroom, living, and dining areas coexist in one continuous flow, while the essential service areas — bathrooms, dressing room, and laundry — remain discreet and functional. Wherever you stand, the perception of the volume, length, and architectural rhythm of the space is total.

Here, black reigns supreme — a theatrical, evocative, and profound color. Microcement, porcelain stoneware, wood, metal, and fabrics merge into a coherent, essential, and vibrant palette, meticulously studied over months to select the perfect shades of black.
The surfaces reflect and absorb light in ever-changing ways, creating an atmosphere that is both intense and refined.

At the heart of the home stands the Genius Loci kitchen by Valcucine, the absolute protagonist with its bold total black aesthetic. Pewter steel, Nero Assoluto granite, and Black Elm wood alternate in a harmonious dialogue with the rest of the interiors. The equipped bridge and wall units in custom dark tones define a functional yet scenic area, enriched by a surprising detail: hidden between the columns, a concealed door leads to a secret room, adding a touch of mystery to the environment.
The central island, the operational heart of the kitchen, features Scratched Lacquered doors — a finish that combines elegance and tactility. Its slightly rough texture invites touch and enhances the minimalist design of the structure. The contrast between the lacquer and the metal legs of the island creates a refined dialogue between materials and surfaces, completing the ensemble with perfect balance and personality.
Contemporary art and bespoke design serve as the guiding thread of the project: each element is carefully calibrated to enhance the artworks and furnishings, transforming the space into a sophisticated canvas. In the living room, the trams by Alexander Morozov evoke the boats gliding along the river, turning the interior into a poetic reflection of the surrounding landscape.
For Tatyana and Vladimir, art is not a mere decorative element but the foundation of the apartment's style and character. Here, interior design and everyday life merge into a complete sensorial experience, where light, materials, colors, and architectural details coexist in perfect harmony, creating a space that is unique, elegant, and uncompromising.
“There is nothing superfluous here — only what gives us strength and emotion. Only what truly speaks about us.”
