Chez Valcucine with Miele celebrates Formanova Studio's expansion in Rome through design and gourmet cuisine

On Wednesday, 18 June, Atelier Valcucine Roma San Pietro | Formanova Studio hosted a new event in the Chez Valcucine programme, transforming into an elegant gourmet restaurant for one evening and welcoming professionals from the worlds of and interior design, alongside guests from a range of creative and cultural fields.

The event also celebrated the recent expansion of the showroom. Inaugurated a year ago, it has already experienced significant growth, confirming its role as a reference point within Rome's design and interior architecture scene.

The event is part of the Chez Valcucine calendar, a developed by Zelo Networking by Lorenza Dalla Pozza together with Valcucine and Miele Italia, in collaboration with the Atelier Valcucine network, a selection of the brand's leading showroom partners around the world.

Conceived to create opportunities for exchange centred on design culture, Chez Valcucine turns showrooms into places of connection and discovery, where design, gastronomy and conviviality come together in an immersive experience.

At the heart of every event are the values shared by Valcucine and Miele: wellbeing, timelessness, innovation and sustainability. These themes take on new meaning through signature cuisine, becoming an opportunity for dialogue among professionals, businesses and design-culture enthusiasts.

A three-act story of the sea

The evening's protagonist was Chef Federico Delmonte, founder and creative force behind Acciuga, a restaurant recognised for its contemporary seafood cuisine, centred on seasonality, daily market selection and the utmost respect for ingredients.

For Chez Valcucine, Delmonte created a menu conceived as a three-act story of the sea, interpreting the values that guide the project through the language of flavour.

Innovation took shape in a dish of squid, peach, lampascioni, goat's cheese cream and hyssop, while wellbeing was expressed through brown rice, Sciacca anchovies, cherry tomatoes and caciocavallo cheese. Sustainability was represented by a panzanella with cucumber, celery, carrot, cabbage and tuna heart, celebrating simple ingredients and a cuisine based on the mindful use of raw materials.

The culinary experience concluded with a dessert dedicated to timelessness: lemon crémeux, gentian, balsamic vinegar and liquorice. This dessert holds particular significance for the chef, who has served it unchanged for more than fourteen years, testament to its ability to endure while preserving its identity.

The wines of Barone Pizzini, a historic Franciacorta winery and pioneer in organic viticulture, accompanied the different stages of the tasting. Animante Franciacorta and Rosé Franciacorta Edizione 2022 complemented the gastronomic journey with elegance and character, reflecting a production philosophy centred on quality, sustainability and a culture of craftsmanship.

Guests also included Luigi Cremona and Lorenza Vitali, among Italy's most respected voices in food criticism, as well as Riccardo Ghilardi, an internationally renowned portrait photographer and official photographer of the Venice International Film Festival.

The evening concluded with moments of exchange, networking and conviviality, once again confirming Chez Valcucine's ability to create authentic connections between people, ideas and design visions.
