Valcucine Wunderkammer stops in Vienna: a meeting between creativity and artisanal knowledge
Valcucine Wunderkammer arrives in Vienna, bringing to the Faulmann & Faulmann space an experience dedicated to architects and interior designers, designed to tell the Valcucine world through dialogue, discovery, and participation.
The Vienna stop gave guests the opportunity to explore some of the principles that have always guided Valcucine, from ergonomic design to research, through to the theme of personalization, understood as the possibility of shaping unique solutions capable of interpreting different needs, sensibilities, and languages.
A journey that connects innovation and artisanal knowledge, finding in Vitrum Arte one of its most significant expressions: a glass inlay technique in which precision, craftsmanship, and interpretation come together to transform an idea into a one-of-a-kind piece.
Giving shape to an idea
The centerpiece of the experience was the workshop dedicated toVitrum Arte. After getting an up-close look at the technique and its various stages of production, guests were invited to personally interpret one of three proposed themes: wonder, luxury, and freedom.
Each participant was asked to create an original drawing, leaving room for their own sensibility and personal language. The result was a collection of different interpretations, in which the same starting point gave rise to individual marks and visions.
It is precisely this step — from idea to gesture — that makes the workshop an integral part of the Wunderkammer experience: not just observing a craft technique, but engaging directly with its creative process.
The drawings created in Vienna will later be transformed by Valcucine artisans into Vitrum Arte pieces — handmade glass inlays — and returned to their creators as a tangible memento of the experience.
A collection that takes shape stop after stop
Each Valcucine Wunderkammer event thus contributes to enriching an international collection of works, bringing together sensibilities and interpretations from different contexts.
The pieces created in Vienna will also enter the final international competition, alongside the works created at the other stops of the tour. At the end of the journey, the collection will become a Wunderkammer made up of multiple perspectives on the meaning of wonder, luxury, and freedom.
The final prize will be a trip for two to Venice, with the opportunity to visit Valcucine and get to know up close the network of artisans who collaborate with the company, exploring the relationship between design culture, craftsmanship, and know-how.
