Kingdom Villa: living in an art gallery in Shanghai
Designed by the visionary MOOOMA Design Studio and brought to life by designer Eva Liu, Kingdom Villa is a bold, integrated interior design project. Located in Shanghai, this residence blends modernity, art, and everyday comfort. Every detail, from spatial concept to bespoke furnishings, offers residents the sensation of living inside a true art gallery.
Eva Liu's design for Kingdom Villa revolves around a three-dimensional structure harmoniously connecting the villa's three levels. The visual and functional heart of the home is the sculptural staircase, fluidly linking family interactions and various spatial functions. Natural light generously floods in from all sides, creating airy, luminous environments. This vision finds one of its most complete expressions in the kitchen, where large windows and skylights bathe the space in light, infusing it with warmth and energy.

From transparency to timelessness
Kingdom Villa's kitchen pays homage to timeless elegance where refined aesthetics meet functional innovation. Developed in collaboration with BEGIN SMART HOME, a local partner based in Shanghai, the project stands out for its balance and personality.
At the center of the space sits an Artematica island with minimalist design, clad in glossy White Cloud glass, offering visual lightness and purity to the environment. Completing the composition, the Floating Breakfast Bar, emphasizes the concept of suspension and fluidity.

Enhancing the kitchen's functionality is the Air Logica Special Element integrated into the wall. The door silently slides upward, revealing a backlit panel that amplifies brightness and the spaciousness of the worktop. When closed, it conceals a backrest equipped with compartments tailored for organization and practicality. Air Logica seamlessly integrates into the villa's sophisticated design, bringing with it a language of discreet and efficient technology.
Glossy White Vitrum surfaces reflect natural light, contributing to a fresh and luminous atmosphere. The glass boiserie reinforces the sense of visual continuity, in perfect harmony with the rest of the space. Every detail is designed to blend aesthetics, functionality, and innovation.
A distinctive feature of the kitchen is the Genius Loci drawer, embellished with a pyramid motif carved from wood using ancient artisanal techniques: a small work of art that plays with light and shadow, personalizing the kitchen.
Bernard Frize's artworks modulate the chromatic atmosphere, while cream-colored paintings by Xu Zhen in the breakfast corner uplift the morning mood. The hand-carved artistic glass dining table echoes the material of the sculptural staircase, establishing a coherent dialogue among the space's different elements.

A space that combines art and comfort
The entire villa stands out for its elegant and cutting-edge formal language. The fluid design, devoid of right angles, expresses harmony between form and function. The pure and clear space reflects an essential inner world, where artworks punctuate the space and become its soul.
In the living room, a mirrored stainless steel crown reflects the natural light from the skylight, as if the ceiling were engraved by the light itself. A sculpture in smoked black mirror by Jean-Michel Othoniel and a red Steinway grand piano seem to soar upwards, towards the sky visible on the second floor. The staircase, in shifting pearl blue tones, gives the sensation of walking among the clouds or inside an artwork. The openings add solemnity and theatricality.
The family room, conceived as an intimate and informal space for the family, opens up like a suspended garden. Damien Hirst's butterflies seem to flutter in the greenery, while classic furnishings in intense colors and refined textures evoke a dreamlike and timeless atmosphere.
The twins' room adopts a playful palette of yellow and blue, with natural oak floors and custom-made wardrobes, creating an intimate, artistic, and child-friendly space.
The master bedroom is distinguished by walls in velvety beige paint, tone-on-tone leather details, and a delicate color palette that conveys calm and comfort. Custom artistic glass and concealed audio systems complete the sensory experience, in an ethereal and relaxed atmosphere.
The master bathroom pays tribute to material beauty, with marbles, mosaics, and integrated lights that enhance every detail. The ceiling hosts musical diffusers and smart backlit mirrors, for an immersive wellness experience.

A floor dedicated to dreams
The lower level of the villa is entirely dedicated to wellness and entertainment, presenting itself as an exclusive, elegant, and surprising space. A curved, mirrored stainless steel bar contrasts with suspended stone steps, providing a refined backdrop for events and informal moments. The pool area evokes a Miami sunset, with mother-of-pearl reflections, customized mosaics, and intelligent RGB lighting. Completing the experience are a private spa and a cinema room that offers a Hollywood-level home cinema experience.
Kingdom Villa is not just a home but a dream space where art, family, and daily life merge in a perfect balance of beauty and wellness.
