Tatarskaya 35 integrated into

In the heart of Zamoskvorechye, one of Moscow's most central and prestigious districts, Tatarskaya 35 is taking shape as a new architectural landmark for the area: a building conceived for those who value the discreet elegance, while staying close to the city's vibrant cultural life. Just minutes away are icons such as Zaryadye Park, the Tretyakov Gallery, the Moscow International House of Music, and a rich network of theatres and museums.

The project offers a contemporary interpretation of Moscow's heritage through a neoclassical lens: noble façade lines, natural stone cladding, exclusive decorative details, and generous glazed surfaces. Developed by the Moscow-based Russian real estate developer Donstroy the building embodies a refined, contemporary approach to the city's architectural identity.

One of its most striking qualities is its relationship with the city. From the windows and terraces, views unfold toward the Kremlin, the celebrated Kotelnicheskaya tower, the rooftops of Zamoskvorechye and Balchug Island, and the lights of the Garden Ring. Outside, a private courtyard of around 1.8 hectares is envisioned as a place for regeneration, with fountains, art, shaded promenades, and dedicated areas for children and sport.

Within this context, the brief was that the kitchen should not assert itself, but merge seamlessly into the architecture of the space, becoming a natural presence.
For this reason, Valcucine chose its Pocket door system of folding doors that hides the operational area and, when needed, makes it instantly accessible. A simple, intelligent gesture: the kitchen reveals itself only in the moment of use, then disappears again, leaving room for life.

Thanks to this mechanism, the door moves fluidly, packing up and fitting inside a side compartment, thus revealing the internal equipment and the entire work area. In this way, everything is within reach, ready to be used in the most practical and efficient way. When finished, the door closes again, hiding everything from view and immediately restoring order, keeping the room clean and tidy.

The kitchen fronts are in Angel Skin, the Valcucine material selected for its technology and everyday practicality: a surface designed to last, easy to live with, and able to preserve an essential, refined aesthetic over time.

The composition is conceived as a wall of tall units—an architectural backdrop that reads as a discreet element integrated into the interior design. This is where the idea of the “invisible” kitchen takes form: retracted doors open and slide, and in one fluid movement unveil the hidden kitchen area, transforming the space according to the rhythm of the day.

Inside, the kitchen is revealed with order and precision. A functional tall unit with lateral receding door organizes the key functions and the wine cooler in a rational, immediate way, while the refrigerator—placed to the side—complete the layout for a natural experience: not ostentatious, yet with everything at hand.

The operational zone is enhanced by a Carnic Grey Honed marble backsplash, adding material depth and an authentic touch. A detail that speaks the same language as the overall elegance of the , elevating daily gestures into a quiet expression of quality.

In front of the equipped wall, the Genius Loci island becomes the contemporary centre of the room. Here, the tempered glass top defines a sober, current presence—made to withstand, to welcome, and to support everyday movements. A comfortable table in wood with its special finish developed for Tatarskaya 35 completes the island: an invitation to share, to spontaneous conviviality, and to a way of living in which the kitchen returns to being a relational heart, not only a function.

Interior coordination was led by Donstroy, who chose the expertise of Valcucine to create a kitchen area fully consistent with the overall style of Tatarskaya 35. The result is a measured balance of wellbeing, timeless design, sustainability, and innovation: a kitchen that does not seek the spotlight, yet interprets contemporary living with the precision—and with the discretion of the elegance.
