Future goals
In addition to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that we have been pursuing for years, we have set ourselves new ESG (environmental, social and governance)
goals that embody the company’s ongoing commitment to a better future. ESG goals are three fundamental dimensions for verifying, measuring, controlling and sustaining the sustainability commitment of a company or organisation. These objectives are embodied in a set of operational standards that a company’s operations must adhere to in order to ensure the achievement of certain environmental, social and corporate governance outcomes. (All other forms of training, such as internal training, etc., are not included in the calculation.)

Freedom and independence characterise Valcucine, making it a distinctive brand that is always open to new challenges through continually evolving research, freeing thought from habits and opening up new horizons. Our culture promotes open-mindedness, encourages cohesion and stimulates corporate progress. For this reason, one of our future goals is to ensure a specific number of training days per year for each employee, with certified external trainers.

According to WWF estimates, 0.7kg of pulp is needed to produce 1kg of ordinary paper. From a pine tree with an average diameter of 15 metres, one cubic metre of wood is obtained, which according to calculations is equivalent to 159 reams of paper, or 79,500 sheets of paper. The weight of a single sheet of paper is 4.99 grams. In order to reduce our impact, we work on reducing the carbon footprint associated with the production and distribution of paper material, as well as promoting the responsible and sustainable use of paper in business processes and communication.

With a view to sustainable development, the installation of a photovoltaic system at our Pordenone headquarters represents a concrete contribution to environmental protection, guaranteeing 30% of our energy needs. This is why we measure the ratio
between energy produced and energy consumed on a daily basis.
